HISTORY IN-DEPTH: Link to wiki Percy is the son of Poseidon. He figures this out after getting expelled from school at age twelve, after monsters start noticing and attacking him. His best friend, Grover, and his mother, Sally, take him to Camp Half-Blood, where he belongs as a demigod. This unfortunately gets his mother 'killed' by the minotaur after them because she can't enter as a mortal. Cue Percy's quest to get her back (and retrieve Zeus' master bolt) as the first of many Quests he gets sent on over the years. Usually gets more and more dangerous as he gets older and somehow still survives it all. Percy navigates the sea of monsters, the labyrinth of Daedalus, and deals with Prophecies and the Gods telling him what to do. Loses his memory at one point, forgetting everything except his name and Annabeth, his girlfriend from Camp. Cue her freaking out and searching everywhere for him while he finds the Roman camp - Camp Jupiter. He assists as one of the Seven demigod heroes of (another!) prophecy to Save The Day again before he decides he is Done With This and tries (yeah, tries) to stay out of this nonsense so he can focus on his study and family, and Annabeth, of course. PERSONALITY Percy's mood can be as quick to change as the ocean. One moment he could be laughing, the next, furious. Which is probably in part due to the whole 'being the son of Poseidon' thing. He is generally willing to help and is loyal to a fault (it is literally his Fatal Flaw as a demigod). This can be a double edged sword, in him remaining by his friends side regardless of the danger but he will also be quick to lash out if a loved one is threatened, as shown with his attempts to protect Annabeth and how he lashed out in retaliation for her being attacked while they were in Tartarus together. He trusts his friends a lot, too. Enough to risk his life with their plan, and literally in the case with his particular bond with Grover, his bff. Percy can also be oblivious at times, at least in regards to romance. It is this and probably, well, everything else that took him and Annabeth so long to actually get together. He will spout her praises at any slight invitation to talk about his girl! He can get frustrated with things like school due to his dyslexia, for example. Academics are decidedly not his thing as a result (unless perhaps it is in Ancient Greek). He was initially pretty salty over his family situation in hating his step-dad Gabe and how Poseidon left, before he knew what the story was with him being a demigod and all. He's a real mother's boy and adores Sally to bits. He cares a lot about family, which shows with him trying to stay out of getting involved in Quests or the like after Heroes of Olympus, as he tries to focus on his studies to get into University with Annabeth. Percy also has a lot of sass and courage. Any decent demigod needs a lot of both to survive the Quests they get sent on by the Gods, after all.
